Student loan management

To: Sen. Moran, Sen. Marshall, Rep. Davids

The administration's destruction of our federal institutions must be stopped. Student loan management is already overworked and moving them to another overworked department is not the answer. The Treasury Department is not structured to handle the millions of student loan borrowers that will now be their responsibility. As a borrower, I have zero confidence that my loans will be appropriately handled. What guarantees do borrowers have that their balances will not change in this move? If anything, this should highlight what a terrible system we have set up with student loans in the first place. They are signed solely to keep people in debt. Remove the interest. Offer loan forgiveness as promised, tax-free. We should be encouraging more Americans to become educated, not creating even more barriers. These ridiculous moves, along with the capping of higher education loans are going to put our country in a place where we are not replacing medical professionals and our already abysmal healthcare system will further collapse. The government should work for its people. Do what is in your power to legislate student loan reform that makes sense, not just passes the buck.
