This bill slashes funding for vital government programs that millions of Americans rely on, including deep cuts to Medicaid and harsh new work requirements, tripling the budget for ICE and Trump's mass deportation efforts, unprecedented funding cuts to SNAP (food stamps), and widespread rollbacks of clean energy tax incentives and climate protections. Furthermore, it restricts access to affordable healthcare by cutting funding for Planned Parenthood's clinical care services and gender-affirming care under Medicaid and CHIP. The bill also makes harmful changes to student loan access, protections, and repayment options, making higher education less attainable. Additionally, it defunds the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau by nearly 70%, leaving consumers vulnerable to predatory financial practices.
