I am appalled at the direction our country is taking and I want you to fix it. We all deserve a healthcare system that works for all of us. Our 35 peer industrialized countries have that - there is no reason we shouldn’t. In case you were not aware, all states but Alaska and Washington D.C. employ Medicaid taxes on medical providers to cover some of their share of the cost of Medicaid. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services is demanding that states cut those taxes in about half. The net effect is that states will have to remove people from Medicaid. Here is a link to the proposed rule, https://www.regulations.gov/document/CMS-2026-2476-0001. This is a despicable way to make sure that millions more lose healthcare. People do die when they lose access to doctors you know. You are in a position to fi this - I want you to implement legislation that prevents CMS from implementing the forced reduction of Medicaid taxes right now. I want you to implement legislation that prevents the CMS rule from taking effect. Please note we could avoid all of this and lower the cost of healthcare in this country by implementing universal health care with a public insurance trust paying private providers.
