Support Rep. Al Green’s Articles of Impeachment — Congress Must Act
To: Rep. Carter
From: A constituent in Leander, TX
December 12
I am writing to express my full and unequivocal support for Representative Al Green’s articles of impeachment. His actions reflect a basic truth that too many in Washington have been unwilling to confront: no President is above the law, and no officeholder is entitled to violate constitutional norms, abuse the public trust, or disgrace the institutions they swore to uphold.
Impeachment is not a political weapon — it is a constitutional safeguard. It exists for moments exactly like this, when the behavior of the President is so corrosive, so destabilizing, and so contrary to the rule of law that Congress has a duty to act. Rep. Green has taken that duty seriously. Now the rest of Congress must do the same.
Every day that passes without accountability signals to the American people that power outweighs principle, that political convenience outweighs constitutional obligation. That is unacceptable. Our democracy depends on the willingness of our elected officials to defend its foundations even when it is difficult, even when it is uncomfortable, and especially when it is necessary.
I am urging you — as your constituent, as a voter, and as an American — to stand firmly behind Rep. Al Green’s articles of impeachment. Support this effort. Debate it. Vote on it. Show the country that Congress is still capable of drawing a line and saying: this is not who we are, and this will not stand.
The world is watching. History is watching. And so are your constituents.
Do your duty. Support impeachment.
