How much worse must conditions become before Congress finally exercises its constitutional authority and starts governing? The American people are being hit from every direction. Food safety alerts continue to make headlines, including salmonella outbreaks linked to eggs, recurring recalls involving contaminated produce, and meat making people sick. Harmful contaminants—including PFAS “forever chemicals”—have been detected in drinking water and soil across the country. Communities continue to face dangerous air pollution, drought, extreme weather, and aging infrastructure that threaten public health and our economy. Meanwhile, families are struggling to afford the basics. Housing costs remain out of reach for millions. Grocery prices continue to strain household budgets. Prescription drugs are still too expensive. Gasoline prices rise and fall, but for too many Americans, filling the tank remains a financial burden. At the same time, Congress is allowing billions more to be committed overseas while Americans are told to wait. Continued illegal military escalation with Iran risks more lives, greater instability, and even more taxpayer dollars spent on another conflict half a world away. Reports that the administration is considering expanded nuclear cooperation with Saudi Arabia deserve rigorous congressional oversight before any irreversible decisions are made. This is not what the American people elected you to do. Your constitutional duty is to provide oversight, protect the public, and ensure our government serves the people—not special interests, political agendas, or endless foreign entanglements. Enough excuses. Enough hearings without action. Enough partisan theater. Protect our food supply. Safeguard our air and water. Lower the cost of living. Defend the rule of law. Exercise your oversight authority. Put Americans first. Do your job. Save this country before the damage becomes irreversible. Your constituents are watching, and we expect action—not more excuses.
