The Department of Justice is breaking the law under Attorney General Bondi's leadership, and Congress must hold her accountable. I'm asking you to launch an immediate investigation into DOJ's unlawful conduct and take appropriate action to restore the rule of law. The DOJ's recent prosecution of Smartmatic appears to be politically motivated retaliation rather than legitimate law enforcement. The voting technology company has stated that Trump's "campaign of retribution" is driving criminal charges against them. When the Attorney General uses prosecutorial power to settle political scores instead of upholding justice, that's a fundamental violation of her oath and the law. No Attorney General is above the law. Bondi must answer for weaponizing the DOJ. I expect you to use your oversight authority to investigate these abuses, demand accountability, and ensure the Department of Justice returns to its actual mission: equal justice under law, not partisan vendettas.
