I am your constituent and I want you to know according to the Kaiser Family Foundation 92% of people on Medicaid are working, in school, are a care-giver or disabled. Moreover, states that have implemented work requirements for Medicaid found that the number of new enrollees, was a couple of thousand and the costs to execute the program were huge (new software, new staff to monitor requirements) and many eligible participants could not navigate the software reporting system and so were placed at risk in harms way without insurance. Moreover, a recent report by the Center for American Progress has estimated the number that will lose healthcare in each Congressional District and how many will die yearly because they lost access to healthcare. Here is a link to their analysis for you. These widespread coverage losses, by conservative estimates, would lead to tens of thousands of avoidable deaths each year. In some congressional districts, the number of avoidable deaths could reach into the hundreds. I’m pretty sure that is not anyone’s goal for Medicaid. I want you to VOTE NO on Medicaid Cuts and restrictions.
