Reject the Interstate Obscenities Definition Act

To: Rep. Balkcom, Gov. Stein, Sen. Moffitt

From: A constituent in Fletcher, NC

May 14, 2025

I urge you all to reject the Interstate Obscenities Definition Act. It is an unconstitutional piece of legislation that will hurt so many more innocent people than it will stop perpetrators of actual violent crimes. It will put queer and gender non-conforming individuals in danger simply by existing as themselves. We, your constituents, will not stay silent about this blatant censorship. We will not simply let such an egregious overstep of personal rights be trampled. It is NOT and SHOULD NEVER BE up to the government to decide what works of fiction should and should not exist. Do the right thing here and stand with the people you represent!
