As your constituent, I have one simple question: Why does Congress continue to tolerate a President who repeatedly spreads disgusting, offensive, fabricated images designed to deceive the public and inflame racial division?
The office of the President should unite the country through truth and responsible leadership. Instead, President Trump continues to circulate blatantly false and disgusting images that rely on racist stereotypes and political propaganda.
His latest post depicts President and Mrs. Obama smiling beside an Air Force One covered in graffiti. The message is unmistakable. It plays on long-standing racist tropes that associate Black Americans with crime and decay. It is beneath the dignity of the presidency and beneath the standards Americans should expect from any elected official, especially the President.
This is not an isolated incident. President Trump spent years promoting the racist “birther” conspiracy against President Obama and has repeatedly used language and imagery that fuels division instead of serving the entire nation.
Congress took an oath to support and defend the Constitution. That oath includes protecting our democratic institutions from deliberate deception and refusing to normalize conduct that undermines public trust.
So I ask again: Where is the oversight? Where is the public condemnation? Why is this behavior accepted when it would be unacceptable from virtually any other public official?
Silence sends a dangerous message—that the President is free to spread falsehoods and exploit racial resentment without consequence.
I urge you to publicly denounce this conduct, demand accountability, and reaffirm that the presidency is a position of honor, integrity, and truth—not a platform for fabricated images meant to divide Americans.
The American people deserve leaders who defend the truth, reject racial division, and uphold the dignity of the office they serve.
I’m tired of being embarrassed by the actions of this administration. Make it stop.
