In your first term you had a good idea that you never followed up on. You said that every foreign student who graduates from our universities should be given a green card and encouraged to stay and enrich this country. The policies being enacted now by your administration do the opposite. The best and brightest students in the world will no longer want to come here to study. They will go elsewhere and enrich those countries instead. We will become backward and isolated as no one will want to come here or even travel here because of your cruel and capricious policies. People legally here with documents have been kidnapped by ICE. Students who have broken no laws have been arrested and put in detention centers. No one is getting a fair hearing—due process—and innocent people aren’t allowed to prove themselves. You aren’t deporting the criminals that everyone agrees should go, you are deporting the law abiding immigrants who are easy to find and then lying about who they really are. You are ruining lives. Why not go back to your good ideas? Give graduates green cards. Give everyone their due process rights.
