Comedic Communication

To: Sen. Marshall

From: A verified voter in Hays, KS

April 5, 2025

I have received and read your letter, A Doctor’s Notes you sent yesterday. I felt compelled to tell you that I feel you have missed your calling, that of a comedian. Your lines claiming RFK Jr. would save Medicare and Medicaid are rich and I absolutely busted a gut with my laughter. Not content with that for a joke, you then proceed to take on “judicial overreach” by judges who make a career of interpreting law and not making law as your missive leads us to believe. Again, hilarity as anyone with the ability to think for themselves realize the perception of overreach emanates solely from the political right-you and your cronies want to penalize these professionals for not bending to your collective political will, but in determining the law as written. Your aim is to strip district court judges of rightful responsibility and place it in the hands of the Executive branch, thereby further reducing checks and balances of governmental pillars. I submit to you, Senator, that you are out of touch with your electorate as evidenced by the hilarious and noteworthy Oakley town hall. Your horse is aligned in the wrong direction as we watch the Trump Tariffs decimate the economy and destroy the hopes and dreams of many. You are among the deluded if you believe the tariffs will benefit Kansas, the country, or the world through the trade wars this generates. In closing, I, too, am waiting for the apology of your slander of the western Kansans at the Oakley town hall as my friend, John T. Bird, has demanded.
