Questioning efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines against transmission

To: Sen. Moran, Rep. Mann, Sen. Marshall

August 30

The COVID-19 vaccines were designed to induce antibodies against the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 in the blood. However, as clearly explained by leading experts like Dr. Fauci and colleagues in their recent paper, respiratory viruses like SARS-CoV-2 replicate rapidly in the nasal mucosa and transmit before encountering blood antibodies. This fundamental understanding nullifies the rationale for COVID-19 vaccine mandates, as they cannot effectively control infection or transmission. Since natural infections also fail to provide long-term protective immunity against reinfection, we must rethink our approach to developing truly effective next-generation vaccines targeting mucosal respiratory viruses. The current COVID-19 vaccines have severe limitations, and continuing their widespread use is unjustified based on the scientific evidence. A shift in strategy is urgently needed to prioritize public health over private profits.
