Finalize complete asbestos ban to protect public health

To: Rep. Turner, Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted

From: A verified voter in Dayton, OH

June 20

I am appalled by the Trump administration's decision to reconsider the ban on cancer-causing asbestos. This deadly mineral is already prohibited in over 50 countries due to its clear links to lung cancer, mesothelioma, and other devastating health impacts. Allowing continued use of asbestos, even with a phase-out period, needlessly endangers countless lives. The EPA should uphold its duty to protect public health and the environment by swiftly finalizing and enforcing a complete asbestos ban without delay or reconsideration. Profits must not take priority over people's wellbeing and lives. I urge you to take immediate action to ensure this reckless reversal does not move forward.
