Urgent: Protect Detained American Child in Israeli Prison

To: Sen. Murphy, Rep. Hayes, Sen. Blumenthal

From: A verified voter in Waterbury, CT

October 20

I’m writing to urge you to take immediate action on behalf of 15-year-old U.S. citizen Mohammed Ibrahim from Palm Beach, FL, who has been illegally detained by Israeli forces since February. Mohammed was taken from his home near Ramallah and is being held in an Israeli military prison without due process or proper medical care. He has lost more than 20 pounds and is reportedly suffering from malnutrition and scabies due to severe neglect. I demand that you:
Publicly call for Mohammed Ibrahim’s immediate release.
Contact the Israeli Embassy to secure his release and safe return home.
Call for an investigation into Israel’s violations of due process, international law, and child protection rights involving U.S. citizens.
Demand accountability for the killing of Mohammed’s cousin, Saifullah Kamel Musallet, a 20-year-old American citizen shot by Israeli forces. At least six U.S. citizens have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers since October 2023. As your constituent, I expect our leaders to protect American citizens abroad and refuse to remain silent in the face of these grave human rights abuses. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.
