Rather than relying on heavy-handed tactics that sow fear, we should be focused on upholding due process and treating all people with dignity and respect. These operations, which have led to dozens of arrests without clear justification, are counterproductive and undermine trust in law enforcement. They disrupt communities and tear families apart, doing more harm than good. As representatives, you have a responsibility to stand up for the rights of all residents and ensure our immigration policies are fair, humane, and aligned with American values of justice and equality under the law. I urge you to condemn these indiscriminate raids, demand accountability and transparency from the agencies involved, and work towards comprehensive immigration reform that provides a pathway to legal status for undocumented individuals contributing to our society. We cannot allow our nation to embrace draconian enforcement measures reminiscent of darker periods in history. True public safety stems from policies rooted in compassion, not cruelty.
