Vote no HR Res 140

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick

From: A verified voter in Philadelphia, PA

February 23

I am writing to express my deep concern about proposals that would allow copper-sulfide mining near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. I urge you to vote against H.R. Res 140. This region is one of our nation’s most fragile and treasured ecosystems. Its interconnected lakes and forests support wildlife, clean water, and local economies built on outdoor recreation and tourism. Copper-sulfide mining carries a well-documented risk of acid mine drainage and heavy metal pollution, which could permanently damage these waters. I respectfully urge you to vote no to support the long-term environmental, economic, and public health consequences of any action affecting this area. Protecting the Boundary Waters and the lands around it reflects a commitment to responsible stewardship and future generations.
