The ongoing violence and loss of civilian lives in Gaza is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. As representatives, we urge you to use your influence to bring an immediate end to the Israeli military onslaught that has claimed over 50,000 Palestinian lives, including 17,000 children and 11,000 women. This is a horrific humanitarian crisis that demands urgent action. The systematic destruction of Gaza's infrastructure, including communication networks, sewage and water systems, healthcare facilities, schools, and universities, is appalling. Such widespread devastation amounts to collective punishment of the civilian population and is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law. While negotiations for a ceasefire are ongoing, the unconditional US support for Israel's military actions is highly concerning. The US cannot be considered an impartial mediator when it is actively enabling and facilitating this genocide through intelligence sharing, arms supplies, and political cover. We call on you to exert maximum pressure on Israel to halt its disproportionate use of force immediately and lift the suffocating blockade on Gaza. The Palestinian people's right to life, dignity, and self-determination must be upheld. Concrete steps must be taken to ensure accountability for the grave violations committed and to pursue a just and lasting resolution to this decades-old conflict based on international law and human rights principles.
