Call for Immediate Congressional Action on Unilateral War in Iran

To: Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell, Rep. Larsen

From: A constituent in Clinton, WA

March 2

I am writing to demand swift congressional intervention following President Trump’s unapproved military strikes on Iran. The Constitution vests the power to declare war in Congress, not the executive branch; yet this administration has dragged the United States into armed conflict without congressional consent, endangering U.S. service members, American civilians, and Iranian citizens alike. The American public has no desire for another protracted Middle‑East war. We have witnessed the human, moral, and fiscal toll of unilateral regime‑change operations, and we must not let history repeat itself. I respectfully ask you to: 1. Publicly call for an immediate cessation of all further military action. 2. Accelerate the passage of a War Powers Resolution that requires congressional approval for any continued hostilities. 3. Oppose any appropriations that fund unauthorized military escalation. 4. Demand full transparency and accountability from the administration. Will you uphold your constitutional duty, use every available tool to restrain this administration, and prevent further escalation? I look forward to your prompt response and decisive action.
