PASS THE BAN FLOCK ACT
PASS THE BAN FLOCK ACT
Kash Patel’s FBI wants access to Flock’s network of mass surveillance cameras — another unconstitutional Trump administration overreach.
Local police, ICE, and Border Patrol have used these automatic license plate reader, or ALPR, cameras to stalk romantic interests; follow people around to their homes, jobs, and doctor’s appointments; and target innocent people. At least 100 police officers have abused Flock data, and new ALPR abuses are uncovered every week.
Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just introduced a bill to ban Flock and other AI-powered ALPR cameras to protect our privacy from the abuses of law enforcement agencies and the Trump administration. Congress must act now to block runaway mass surveillance under Trump.
Flock, Axon, and other ALPR companies have wormed their way into communities across the nation. The Ban Flock Act would crush this invasive spying network. The bill bans federal use of ALPRs, imposes serious consequences on localities that use these cameras, and prohibits use of the data that ALPR cameras collect.
ALPR data is already falling into the wrong hands. Congress must act now to end these abuses.
