Dear Governor Newsom, I am writing to urge you to join the growing call to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The agency’s recent actions have shown it to be beyond the reach of simple reform, creating a climate of fear and violating the fundamental rights of Californians. While California has strong sanctuary laws, federal agents continue to operate with a level of impunity that threatens our neighbors and our state's values. I ask that you use your platform to advocate for dismantling this agency and replacing it with a system that prioritizes human rights, due process, and the safety of all residents.
