I am writing as your constituent to express my deep concern about recent ICE operations in Minnesota and to urge you to take immediate action to protect constitutional rights and community safety.
The conduct of ICE agents in our communities represents a dangerous disregard for fundamental constitutional protections. Reports of violence against community members, intimidation of legal observers, and violations of First and Fourth Amendment rights are not only disturbing—they are unacceptable in a democracy that claims to value the rule of law.
Legal observers play a critical role in documenting potential abuses and ensuring accountability. When ICE agents interfere with these observers or operate without proper training and oversight, they undermine the very principles our government is meant to uphold. The violence being inflicted on Minnesota communities by reckless agents is creating an atmosphere of fear that harms everyone, regardless of immigration status.
I am asking you to use every tool at your disposal to halt these operations. This includes:
• Demanding immediate oversight and investigation into ICE’s conduct in Minnesota
• Supporting legislation to defund ICE operations that violate constitutional rights
• Advocating for the protection of legal observers and community members
• Calling for accountability for agents who engage in violent or unconstitutional behavior
Our communities deserve safety and dignity, not fear and brutality. The current approach is not making us safer—it is tearing apart families, traumatizing children, and eroding trust in our institutions.
I urge you to take a strong, public stand against these abuses and to work toward ending ICE operations that violate our constitutional values.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response.
