Prioritize responsible spending, not Trump's military parade vanity project
To: Rep. Kelly
From: A constituent in Oxford, MS
April 10
President Trump's proposed military parade is an unnecessary expenditure that would divert funds from more pressing priorities and damage public infrastructure. As the nation's capital, Washington D.C. has a duty to steward resources responsibly. Staging an ostentatious display for the president's personal gratification, without him having served in the military, is an irresponsible use of taxpayer dollars that could be better allocated to supporting veterans, fortifying national defense, or addressing urgent domestic needs. The projected exorbitant costs and logistical challenges further undermine justification for such an event. I urge you to reconsider this parade plan and instead dedicate those resources towards endeavors that genuinely benefit the American people and honor the sacrifices of our servicemembers.
