Vote Out Republicans Who Gutted Healthcare in the One Big Beautiful Bill

To: Sen. Van Hollen, Sen. Alsobrooks, Rep. Elfreth

August 22

Vote out every Republican who supported the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act." That July 2025 budget reconciliation bill extended Trump's tax cuts for the wealthy while stripping healthcare from millions of Americans — and the consequences are already here. A Department of Health and Human Services report from June 2026 shows at least 5 million people lost health insurance in just the first six months of this year. Middle-income families are paying roughly $3,500 more per year in premiums, and deductibles jumped about $1,000 per person as people were forced into cheaper, thinner coverage. The Medicaid cuts are even more alarming. Up to 15 million people are at risk of losing coverage — not because they're ineligible, but because Republicans buried eligibility in paperwork traps. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities estimates two out of three people who will lose Medicaid are legally entitled to it. Republicans deliberately delayed most of these cuts until after the 2026 midterms to avoid accountability. That is not governance — it is a calculated decision to let people suffer quietly. These votes have consequences, and the people who cast them should face consequences too.
