As your constituent and a physician in Texas board-certified in Family Medicine, with an active medical license in Texas and an inactive medical license in New York, I urge you to oppose the confirmation of Casey Means as Surgeon General. Casey Means has never completed a residency nor earned a board certification in any field of medicine. She has no active medical license, meaning she is not currently qualified to care for patients, much less oversee the medical care of the entire United States. Her lack of residency completion and board certification speaks poorly of her character and resilience. We must seek out a physician of the highest caliber to serve as Surgeon General, someone who demonstrates excellence in the medical field, perseverance in their personal life, and experience caring for patients as a fully qualified physician who has completed their training. Casey Means meets none of these criteria, and is thus wholly unqualified to be Surgeon General of the United States.
