An Open Letter

To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. McCaul

From: A verified voter in Austin, TX

April 4

I am a Texas constituent asking you to oppose any further U.S. escalation with Iran unless Congress explicitly authorizes it. Texans should not be dragged into another undeclared war. Reuters/Ipsos found that 66% of Americans want U.S. involvement ended quickly, 60% disapprove of the strikes, and 76% oppose sending ground troops. Most also expect the conflict to raise gas prices and bring more financial pain at home. Texas families will pay that price in dollars, instability, and potentially in the lives of our service members. Congress, not the President alone, is supposed to decide whether this country goes to war. That is not a technicality. It is your job. Please do three things: oppose any new funding that expands this war, publicly reject sending U.S. ground troops to Iran, and demand a vote before any further offensive military action. No blank check. No drift into war. No more spending American lives and money without clear authorization. Please act now.
