I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to end ICE harassment and enforcement practices that terrorize immigrant communities and put lives at risk.
The recent murder of a woman in Minneapolis has shaken communities across the country. While the details continue to emerge, what is already clear is that aggressive immigration enforcement, racial profiling, and constant fear create conditions where harm escalates. When people are hunted, surveilled, or forced into hiding, public safety does not improve. It deteriorates.
ICE’s current practices destabilize families, discourage people from seeking help, and fracture trust between communities and local institutions. No one should fear violence, detention, or death simply for existing in public spaces, going to work, or caring for their family.
I am asking you to:
• End ICE harassment tactics, including racial profiling and aggressive enforcement in communities.
• Support legislation that limits ICE’s authority to terrorize communities and increases oversight and accountability.
• Invest in community-based safety, legal protections, and pathways to status instead of punitive enforcement.
Immigrants are our neighbors, coworkers, and loved ones. Safety, dignity, and justice must apply to everyone.
I urge you to act now. Lives depend on it
