Shame on you for allowing this to happen! Tariffs and racism will destroy our economy.
Tori Branum is a Republican congressional candidate in Georgia. She saw foreign workers at a Hyundai/LG battery plant, a $4.3 billion project from a U.S. ally, and called ICE. She didn’t care they were South Korean engineers. Didn’t care they were on legal visas. Didn’t care this was one of the largest job-creating projects in Georgia history.
ICE stormed the site. South Korea is furious. The deal’s on ice. Billions now at risk. She nuked her state’s economy and a diplomatic relationship to play neighborhood vigilante. Because the racism was that strong.
Honda, Toyota and Subaru are seriously consider closing assembly plants in the US. You see, the vast majority of the automobile parts are made overseas and shipped here for assembly. Now EACH part is being individually tariffed resulting in much higher costs per unit. It is now cheaper to build the amcsr in the home country and ship the car here: much less tariffs per unit. Add that to the political climate and we are about to see a mass exodus of foreign businesses.
