So let me get this straight: members of Congress signed off on a multi-trillion-dollar budget—one that will upend lives, gut safety nets, shovel cash to the ultra-rich, and endanger our future—and now they’re admitting they didn’t even read it?!
You weren’t elected to rubber-stamp lobbyist garbage. You weren’t sent to Washington to greenlight dystopian nonsense crafted in backrooms and dropped in your lap at the last second. You were elected to REPRESENT US. If you can’t be bothered to read the bills you’re voting on—especially something this consequential—you have no business holding office.
Let’s talk about this so-called “budget”:
• It slashes Medicaid, leaving vulnerable Americans without life-saving care.
• It guts education and public health, while pretending to “prioritize outcomes.”
• It shovels billions into deportation operations, corporate subsidies, and billionaire tax breaks, all while telling working families to tighten their belts.
• And it’s laced with authoritarian provisions that have no business in any budget.
You can’t blame procedure. You can’t blame timing. You all had a choice. And if you didn’t read it before signing, that is a gross dereliction of duty. You sold out your constituents—again.
This budget is illegitimate. Period. It should be thrown out in its entirety.
Start over. Hold hearings. Read the damn bill. In the light of day, with input from the public—not lobbyists and corporate overlords. Until then, don’t expect silence from us. We’re watching. We’re organizing. And come election time, we’ll remember exactly who played along and who stood up.
DO YOUR JOB. Or step aside for someone who will.
Furious and fed up,
