Vote in favor of funding SEPTA!

To: Sen. Pennycuick

July 21

The House of Representatives recently passed legislation that would provide nearly $300 million in new funding for mass transit systems across Pennsylvania, including SEPTA. This crucial funding is needed to maintain essential public transportation services that many Pennsylvanians rely on daily for commuting, accessing healthcare, and more. Without this funding, devastating cuts loom - the elimination of dozens of bus routes and rail lines, station closures, service reductions and fare hikes that would make transit unaffordable for many. Approving this legislation is vital to preventing disruptions that would profoundly impact mobility and economic opportunity throughout the state. As the bill now moves to the Senate, I urge you to vote in favor of securing this long-term investment in Pennsylvania's transit infrastructure and the numerous communities it serves. Reliable, accessible public transportation shouldn't be a luxury - it's a necessity for a thriving, equitable commonwealth.
