Demand Accountability: Remove McConnell From His Senate Seat

To: Rep. Elfreth, Sen. Alsobrooks, Sen. Van Hollen

From: A verified voter in Arnold, MD

August 31

Mitch McConnell has been absent from public view for months, with no transparency about his condition or capacity to serve, and his seat needs to be vacated now. Constituents deserve a senator who can show up. The people of Kentucky are being represented by a ghost while critical votes happen without them. What makes this unconscionable is the hypocrisy. McConnell spent his career blocking paid sick leave, opposing disability protections, and making sure ordinary workers had no safety net when their health failed. Now he collects a full Senate salary while disappearing for months with zero accountability. That's not public service. That's a protected class of one. The Senate has the authority to address incapacity. Use it. If McConnell cannot perform his duties, his seat should be declared vacant so Kentuckians can have actual representation. No constituent should accept a senator who exists only on paper.
