Co-Sponsor and Vote Yes on HR 9901 to Protect Endangered Species Habitat

To: Sen. Padilla, Rep. Pelosi, Sen. Schiff

From: A constituent in San Francisco, CA

August 26

Please co-sponsor and vote yes on HR 9901, the bipartisan bill introduced by Representatives Fitzpatrick and Quigley to block the federal rule stripping "harm" from the Endangered Species Act. This rule guts the habitat protections that have been the backbone of species recovery for decades. Without it, developers and industry can destroy nesting beaches, wetlands, and migration corridors with far fewer legal consequences. Habitat loss is the leading driver of extinction — that's not opinion, it's scientific consensus. The Endangered Species Act has prevented extinction for 99% of listed species precisely because it treated habitat destruction as harm. Sea turtles are a clear example: populations have shown real recovery signs after years of coastline protections, and this rollback puts all of that progress at risk. Congress has the power to stop this. Support HR 9901.
