While I strongly oppose Nicolás Maduro and his regime, I write to express my objection to this action as unlawful and deeply troubling. Regardless of the target, bypassing Congress erodes the Constitution and sets a dangerous precedent for future presidents to act unilaterally, without accountability or regard for separation of powers. No president should be allowed to claim such authority simply because the cause is politically convenient. I urge you to assert Congress’s constitutional role and defend the rule of law.
