Oppose school vouchers

Voucher programs and so-called "school choice" initiatives will strip funding from public schools and create unequal education opportunities by using public funds to support private schools. My son has a learning disability and he will not receive the needed services to support his learning in a private school. Teachers need to be qualified professionals with a background in child development and certifications to teach in their grade level. Private schools do not follow the standards of public school. Vouchers are like a subsidy to join a country club that only allows VIP access while the local recreation center allows access for all. We need an investment in our public schools - not a handout to parents who can already afford a private tuition. All Texas children deserve the highest-quality public education. Please defend our tax dollars and our public schools by OPPOSING voucher programs.
