I just want to let you know why I stopped being a Democrat and voted against the party. We live in a triple Blue state. Both houses of legislature and the Gov mansion yet all I see is our state regressing. People are leaving this state. For economic and personal liberty issues. You have made NYS a nanny state on steroids. I find it abhorrent. The state can’t fix everything nor should it try. Some problems can be addressed if we just got out of the way. But instead this state just has to butt its nose in EVERYTHING. You need to stop cause you’re not good at it. Things you are good at, wasting our tax money then finding ways to justify hitting us with another tax (“toll”) like this congestion pricing scam. You can’t figure out ways to trim MTA fat or reduce spending. But you can find ways to drain the working class. That’s what yer good at. Also good at is virtue signaling and performative theatre. Like when Supreme Court gave law abiding gun owners in our state some relief, instead of taking a wait and see attitude. See if this does cause an increase in legally permitted citizens engaged in crime. What you did was throw a tantrum and made it even more draconian for a citizen to exercise A RIGHT. While you continue to advocate for laws that release repeat violent offenders back into our community or criminalize self Defense like we are seeing with that shameful prosecution of Daniel Penny in Manhattan. That garbage you’re good at. But what really broke the straw was in a triple blue state I literally asked you to do the bare minimum and you couldn’t do that. I have written multiple times how offensive it was that we had a state park named after that felon and all I get from you was “there isn’t much we can do”. Oh really? You can prosecute him a former president for barely reasonable charges but you can’t remove his name from a tax payer funded park?!? That’s when I realize this party is corrupt and incompetent. The working class sent you a message on Election Day. Black and Hispanic (which I am both) sent you another message: We’re done. We’re done just voting for a party that takes us for granted. We’re done. Dems better get their heads on their backside or this hemorrhage will continue. Your recent celebration of congestion pricing tax is just more evidence you learned nothing. Seriously what sort of sociopath thinks raising taxes on the people is a good thing. You guys.
