Block immigration enforcement actions targeting domestic violence survivors seeking help. The Trump administration's rescinding of protections for survivors is dangerous and directly endangers victims. When ICE arrests people at shelters, courthouses, or police stations, abusers gain a weapon more powerful than any threat they could make themselves.
This is not a border security issue. Abusers are already using the threat of ICE to trap their victims, and Trump's radical deportation policies make that threat effective and deadly. Every arrest of a domestic violence survivor at a courthouse sends a message to every other survivor: do not ask for help.
These are people who fled violence and turned to the system for protection. Trump's aggressive enforcement is making us less safe, especially women. Survivors need safe pathways to report abuse, not a choice between violence at home and detention by the government.
