Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy recently said air traffic controllers “have to come to work. You got to show up. That’s your job.” Maybe someone should tell Congress that you have to go to work, too.
I am angry and frustrated that you don’t seem interested in holding the president responsible for his illegal activities.
Why are we bailing out Argentina to the tune of $20-40 billion? Did you approve that? Why would we use Department of Defense R&D funds to pay our troops…a move that would violate the Antideficiency Act? Speaking of troops, why did you reject the Pay Our Troops Act? Why would we deny the back pay owed to furloughed federal workers? Why did you allow Trump to cancel nearly $28 billion in funding for Democratic districts and $738 million for Republican districts? I don’t recall your votes on any of these measures.
I don’t know if you’ve read the Constitution lately, but it clearly states “all bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.”
When are you going to take back the power of the purse and end Trump’s illegal and unethical power grab? The president continues to divert and withhold money that you, as our elected representative, already voted to spend.
When are you going to do the job that you were elected to do? That you are being paid to do? I don’t work, I don’t get paid. Why are you getting paid?
Uphold our Constitution. Stop the money grab. Take back control.
Do your job.
