On 9/20 Wilber Rafael Garces Perez was side swiped and shot in the back of the neck by rogue ICE agents. As a voter, parent and concerned community member I join thousands calling on representatives to immediately put an end to ICE traffic stops. They are not trained to safely pull over or make traffic stops. We further demand ICE officers wear a functional body cam and dash cam during their patrols and at any time when interacting with the public as agents. Any and all camera data must be turned over immediately upon request for any investigations. We demand that ICE agents wear uniforms and do not have face coverings. Without the proper uniforms and training our communities are at risk for injuries and abuse. We demand that detention centers be abolished and that all persons who are held in detention be released if they have not been charged or legal warrants. We demand our tax dollars be used for our communities and not to endanger others at the hands of untrained and violent ICE agents.
