I’m writing to urge you to support urgent reforms to the Insurrection Act. President Trump’s threats to use the U.S. military in American cities under this outdated law pose a serious threat to democracy and civil rights. Congress must act now to require legislative approval for any domestic troop deployment lasting more than 14 days, guarantee judicial oversight, and make clear that peaceful protest can never be grounds for military action. Full public transparency must also be mandated. Please take a stand to defend our freedoms and preserve the Constitutional balance of power—before it’s too late.
