Vote ‘NO’ on the Texas Destination Resort bill.

To: Sen. King, Rep. McQueeney, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Gov. Abbott

From: A verified voter in Fort Worth, TX

April 18

Permitting destination resorts with casino gaming in Texas would have detrimental societal impacts that outweigh any potential economic benefits. Gambling addiction and associated problems like bankruptcy, crime, and family dissolution tend to increase near casinos. Out-of-state casino operators are pushing this agenda for their own profits, not the wellbeing of Texans. There are better ways to fund education and public services that don't rely on predatory businesses exploiting vulnerable populations. I urge you to reject the destination resort bill and protect Texas communities from the harmful effects of expanding commercial gambling.
