I am writing from Allegheny County, as a constituent who voted for you, to plead with you and your fellow Dems to step up and provide leadership. What is happening in Washington is horrifying. President Trump’s first 12 days in office has been nothing short of destructive. The ouster of career FBI employees for doing their jobs (investigating and prosecuting a crime against the United States), pardoning of the January 6 treasonists, and systematic stripping of government funding to schools, Medicare, and the vulnerable is horrific to those of us watching from the state of PA. Today, we’re hearing that Elon Musk - a private citizen not elected to any office - is enabling his civilian aides to effectively stage a coup, while also accessing US payment systems. Much of this is being done in the name of either greed, or in retribution. It must stop. Immediately. We elected you to protect our interests as US citizens from Pennsylvania. We expect leadership from you and the Democratic Party. We hear a precious few loud voices from some of your colleagues; it should be a deafening roar coming from your side of the aisle, followed by action. Yet, we see you doing effectively nothing. YOU are the ones who CAN do something. And you SHOULD. Shame on you and your fellow Congresspeople. This country is spiraling in less than 2 weeks, and could quickly fall into a serious economic depression, as you allow Trump to dismantle the rule of law right before our very eyes. If you’re not resisting his actions with the power you have as Congress, you are enabling him to do so with your permission. We expect better from our elected officials.
