I am urging you to vore against the Lakin Riley Act. It's a cynical anti-immigrant bill that will not make our community safer. The Lakin Riley Act exploits a tragedy in order to expand ICE's ability to detain immigrants who have not yet been convicted of the crimes they're charged with. The Lakin Riley would allow Latino immigrants to be disproportionately targeted. It is inhumane, and will not make citizens safer. Please vote no on this disingenuous, dangerous, and misguided bill. Thank you.
