Block these 50% tariffs on Canadian goods before they take effect. The Trump administration just invoked Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 — a provision unused since 1949 — to slap new duties on Canadian wine, dairy, motor vehicles, and even hockey sticks. These tariffs override USMCA, the free trade agreement we already have with Canada, and they will drive up prices for American families and businesses that depend on cross-border supply chains.
This isn't smart trade policy — it's economic self-sabotage. Canada is our largest trading partner and closest ally. Blowing up that relationship with a rarely-used Depression-era law, while simultaneously abandoning USMCA renewal, puts American jobs and livelihoods at risk. Congress has the authority to push back on executive overreach on trade. Use it.
