While promising tax cuts, it goes too far by gutting critical safety net programs like Medicaid and food assistance. The proposed work requirements for these programs are draconian and will leave millions without health coverage or enough to eat. The bill also undermines efforts to address climate change by rolling back clean energy tax credits and opening more public lands to drilling and mining. Its punitive immigration policies, including a $1,000 fee on asylum seekers, are inhumane and un-American.
