Reject Divisive "One Big Beautiful Bill" Harming Americans

To: Rep. Adams, Sen. Tillis, Sen. Budd, Pres. Trump

From: A constituent in Charlotte, NC

May 17

The Trump administration's so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill" is a sweeping piece of legislation that contains concerning provisions that would harm many Americans. While promising tax cuts, it goes too far by gutting critical safety net programs like Medicaid and food assistance. The proposed work requirements for these programs are draconian and will leave millions without health coverage or enough to eat. The bill also undermines efforts to address climate change by rolling back clean energy tax credits and opening more public lands to drilling and mining. Its punitive immigration policies, including a $1,000 fee on asylum seekers, are inhumane and un-American. Rather than advancing an extreme partisan agenda, Congress should focus on building an economy that works for all Americans and preserving our democratic values. I urge you to reject this harmful legislation and instead pursue bipartisan solutions that uplift working families, protect the environment, and treat immigrants with dignity. The American people deserve better than this divisive bill.
