Do everything in your power to block the Trump administration's continued tariff agenda. The New York Federal Reserve has now confirmed what families already feel at the checkout line: Trump's tariffs raised prices on 67 categories of everyday goods by 2.9 percentage points as of February. Without them, those prices would have actually dropped by nearly 1%.
This isn't abstract economic theory. The New York Fed's own researchers found that for every percentage point increase in the average tariff, consumer prices rose by roughly a quarter percent — and those elevated prices are expected to persist into 2027. Two-thirds of that increase came directly from the tariffs themselves. The White House claims foreign exporters absorb the cost. They don't. American consumers do.
The Supreme Court struck down many of these tariffs earlier this year, but the administration is already pushing new workarounds to keep them in place. That fight isn't over, and your voice matters. Use every legislative tool available to stop this policy from continuing to drain money from your constituents' pockets.
