Thursday Evening Springdale, Arkansas I am writing this evening regarding the serious situation unfolding in Washington, D.C., involving Mr. Donald Trump and the Courts. It is now clear that Mr. Trump and his staff believe they can defy a lawful court order. This is an outright attack on the rule of law. No individual — regardless of wealth, influence, or former office — should be permitted to place themselves above the judiciary or the Constitution. For years, I have expressed my concerns to you regarding Mr. Trump’s reckless behavior and disregard for our democratic institutions. I have also read countless letters from fellow citizens urging action — to contain, censure, or remove him when he was in office — in defense of our country. I anticipate that some of you may be tempted to excuse inaction by citing the views of certain voters. Let me be clear: many of Mr. Trump’s supporters, particularly those identifying with QAnon and MAGA movements, are not operating from a rational or informed position. Many are deeply misled, having embraced fantastical conspiracies about political clones and secret tribunals. These are not voters whose demands for blind loyalty should guide your decision-making. You were elected to lead, not to pander. You were sworn to defend the Constitution, not to indulge mass delusion. Do the right thing — uphold the rule of law, hold Mr. Trump accountable, and trust that in time, even his most fervent followers will adapt and move on. Our Republic cannot and must not be held hostage by those who refuse to live in reality.
