I am writing because only Rep. Matsui has a human answering her calls. Senators Padilla and Schiff have blocked phone lines and full voicemails. This is not acceptable. We the people are currently witnessing the dismantling of our democracy. From unelected, unvetted young men whose prefrontal goddamned cortex isn’t even formed putting their hands in the US Treasury to the sitting president making deals with El Salvador to house US and asylum seeking prisoners, this is NOT the time to close your ears. We need you loud. On every news outlet, local radio station, every social media platform, we should hear you sounding the alarm. Stop worrying about your seat. The country is headed to hell. Your constituents do not have your salary, your insurance, your pension, your security detail. And yet, they’re out in the streets protesting, protecting their neighbors and their loved ones. What, with all your comforts, are YOU hiding from? Get to work before your entire district is a camp. Not hyperbole. Not hysterics. Get. To. Work. And loudly so we can hear you.
