Protect USAID staff, allow agency to fulfill critical mission
To: Pres. Trump
From: A constituent in New Orleans, LA

The abrupt removal and sidelining of experienced career officials at USAID is deeply concerning and raises questions about due process violations. Dozens of senior leaders have been placed on administrative leave without evidence of misconduct, while hundreds of contractors have already been terminated or face furloughs. This disruption to USAID's operations and expertise threatens to undermine its vital work providing humanitarian aid, global health support, and pursuit of development goals abroad. Such sweeping personnel actions appear to bypass established procedures and protections for civil servants. They risk crippling an agency that plays a crucial role in promoting American interests and values globally. I urge you to intervene to ensure USAID staff receive full due process, that unlawful terminations cease immediately, and that the agency can continue its critical mission unimpeded by unwarranted political interference in its workforce and operations. Preserving USAID's institutional knowledge and adhering to merit principles for federal employment are of utmost importance.
