Sithy Bin has been ordered by ICE to self-deport by June 16, 2025. Sithy arrived in the US as a toddler from a Cambodian refugee camp. He faced extreme poverty and isolation growing up without a support system. He joined a gang as a young youth. He was studying and had a young daughter at 24 when he became involved in a gang conflict. He accidentally shot and injured a bystander and was convicted for life. Sithy committed himself to transformation. He joined every rehabilitative, educational, and spiritual program available to him. His goal was not only to change his own life but to help others do the same. Years later, under California’s sentencing reform laws, the same ju ormation that he reduced his sentence, making him eligible for paro le. dge who gave Sithy his original sentence was so moved by his transf Since being released from both prison and detention, Sithy has built a life rooted in healing, service, and community leadership. We need mentors like Sithy. He can help give others struggling to make better choices. Please stop ICE from deporting him.
