I'm writing again to insist you take stronger action against the illegal, immoral, and incredibly dangerous Trump regime. There is a saying 'Deeds, not words', but in this moment, we need both. You must be as vocal as possible in standing up to this would be dictator as silence equals complicity. In the Declaration of Independence, the signers all pledged '... their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor..' in order to see this country free from oppression. We are at the same pivotal moment in time, and if we don't all stand now and risk everything, we will surely fall. I implore you reach out to your counterparts and band together as a united front against the fascist regime that threatens us all. Reach out to those Republican members of Congress you know to be reasonable and encourage them that putting their jobs on the line is well worth the freedom of this country. In the words of Governor Pritzker in Illinois, "We don't have kings in America, and I don't intend to bend my knee to one." This should be the vocal stance of every member of Congress who claims to believe in Democracy. If you believe it, you must be willing to defend it at all costs and at the risk of everything.
