At the behest of this Republican administration, masked men, purportedly ICE employees, continue to indiscriminately snatching US residents and citizens off our streets. The vast majority of the abductees have no criminal record. They are not charged with any crime. They are not provided with an attorney. They receive no due process before a judge. They are concentrated in detention camps, where they are forced to work without pay. That is NOT law enforcement. That is illegal extra-judicial abduction. Of non-criminals and children. By faceless armed thugs. In Third Reich Germany, Gestapo agents had to show badge numbers and their faces. Today, ICE “agents” have less oversight than the Gestapo. They have zero accountability when someone is wrongly detained. We, as a nation, are so much better than this. Or should be. My wife and I strongly urge you to demand accountability for those acting on ICE’s behalf and for them to stop abducting innocent people based solely on appearance.
